Glacier’s Edge Council strives to support our volunteer trainers and provide the best trainings possible for the leaders of our youth. This page will be the host for resources that will make the task of staffing or directing many training courses offered by Glacier’s Edge Council easier.
There are just a few policies that do need to be followed when conducting a training at any level- unit, district, or council:
- All trainings must be approved by the Glacier’s Edge Council Training committee prior to the course. This ensures that the proper materials are being used as well as necessary paperwork and documentation are utilized. If you would like to schedule a training please attend a GEC training committee prior to scheduling your course or contact the Council Training Chair: Luann Rece at 608-873-1821 or orchidscout@gmail.com
- A Training Attendance Report (PDF) must be filled in by the participant and submitted by the course director to the Glacier’s Edge Council Service Center. A separate report should be completed for each council if there are participants from other councils in attendance. Please let the GEC registrar know that these forms need to be forwarded to the other council offices.
- All participants should be issued a BSA training card that has been signed by the Council Executive. This is the participants record of having completed the training. Cards are available at the Council Service Centers upon request.
The Glacier’s Edge Council Training committee welcomes new trainers and is willing to provide a mentor for any volunteer that wishes to become a trainer.
We thank all volunteers for the giving of their time and talents.
