In the Spirit of the 100th Anniversary of Scouting, the Indian Trails District is electing to celebrate by participating in a service program to help others.

On Saturday, March 13, at KANDU Industries located at 1741 Adel St. in Janesville, our Scouting family will participate in "Kids Against Hunger".   "Kids Against Hunger" is a nonprofit organization which assembles and packages meals to be distributed locally, in the mid-west and in third world countries.

It is suggested that Scouts and Scouters sign up as a family, Den, Pack, Troop, or Crew. If that is not possible you may sign up individually but a parent must attend with their Scout.  Initially we will have three shifts available from 9:00AM to 12:00PM, and each shift will last one hour. Wi will need at least 24 volunteers per shift with a maximum of 30.  If there is additional interest we can do additional shifts beginning at 1:00PM. For example if the first three shifts fill up and your pack or troop can fill a time slot please let Andrew Olsen know, and "Kids Against Hunger" will work with us to expand the times.

If Indian Trails District can fill all three shifts we will be able to package 18,000 meals. There is a cost to participate of $10 per person. This donation will go to "Kids Against Hunger" for the purchase of the food for this great program.  All checks should be made out to "Kids Against Hunger".  You will not be considered signed up until the form is filled out and turned in to the Janesville Scout Office.
