OWL: Outdoor Leader Skills for Webelos Leaders

Registration deadline is March 30th. Registration fee is $20.00 if paid by deadline. Fee after deadline is $25.00. Plan to arrive by 8:00 a.m. on Saturday morning. Those with farther to travel may arrive between 6:00 and 9:00 p.m. on Friday and stay overnight. Food will be provided at sundown on Friday. Training starts first thing Saturday morning and concludes Sunday early afternoon.
This fun-filled weekend training course is for all Bear and Webelos Leaders and those involved in delivering the Webelos program. Learn the skills necessary to successfully implement the Webelos outdoor program. Incorporating the adage “3/4 of Scouting is Outing”, the course is conducted out-of-doors, rain or shine. Outdoor skills of Cooking and Sanitation, Campfires, Knots, Woods Tools, Naturalist, Forester, First Aid, Fire Building, Geologist, Outdoorsman, Selecting Campsites, Tents, Bedding and Weather are taught in the program. The emphasis is on Hands-on Training. It also prepares the leader to conduct Webelos overnight camping with the boys and parents of the den.
Leader Specific training for Webelos Leaders is recommended. Outdoor Leader Skills for Webelos Leaders is a supplemental training required to earn your Webelos Leader Training Award. Please register before the deadline so you can receive information necessary to prepare you for the weekend.
